Rain-X® Windshield Repair Kit Saves Time and Money by Repairing Chips and Cracks Quickly and Easily
Rain-X® Windshield Repair Kit helps minimize the appearance and stop the spread of chips and cracks in your windshield. It removes air from the break, fills it with durable resin and makes it even stronger than before. For best results, repairs should be made as soon as possible after the damage occurs and before the break is contaminated by dirt or water. The kit works best on round damage not more than one inch in diameter and cracks not longer than 12 inches. It will not repair damage to more than one layer of glass.

Awful. Doesn't dry in the timeframe stated. It took 24 hours to dry. And the chemical is a significant irritant. When I went to scrape it off as per the instructions it got this irritating dust all over everything. It's very difficult to clean and made me itch like crazy. Do yourself a favor and just get your window repaired professionally.

I've use the syringe type repair kits in the past with good results. This kit does not suck any air out of the crack and only pushes air into the chip or crack spreading it further. I now have to replace the windshield, please do not assume I used it incorrectly, I followed the instructions exactly and watched others on youtube before attempting.

Didn't completely fix the chip. It's probably fixed enough where water won't be able to get into it and damage it further. Still can tell that there is a chip there but it filled in maybe 80% of the crack.

My windshield had a little chip, as if a pebble had shattered it. I opted to buy this product after reading reviews. When I finished the procedure and realized that the chip had vanished as if nothing had happened, I was astonished. Definitely suggest this well-made gadget.

I admit that I had my doubts, but this product works great, read the directions twice and the stone chip with cracks running off of it are gone, I wish I had a before and after pictures. Hopefully it works for you as well as it did for me.

If you apply too much pressure (it seemed like minimal pressure to me) with the suction cup attachment, the chip will turn into a long crack that spreads across your windshield. If you weren't going to go to the trouble of replacing your windshield you are now!Maybe the spider-chip was never going to be repairable and the windshield was going to need to be replaced anyway. But i could have saved $20 and an hour of just skipping the step of making the crack worse and getting my wife angry for "totally ruining my windshield" with this kit.

I had a chip and small crack (about 1/2") right in the line of sight over the steering wheel. Annoying dark blemish….. I purchased this and am please with the results. I'd say at least 90% improvement. I read the instructions twice and then went to work. Applied it in the shade following the instructions to let air out, added more resin, and reapplied pressure. Waited a few more minutes, took the apparatus off, dropped some more resin on and applied the curing strip on it. Moved vehicle into the sun. Waited til dry and then removed the strip, razor bladed the dried resin. Noticed still a little bit of pit. Applied more resin and new strip. Waited til dry again. Razor bladed the resin again.All in all, it filled the pit and small crack and it is barely noticeable. Something I can live with(being directly in my line of sight). Better than hundred dollars for a new windshield or even a a hundred for a pro repair.I didn't expect a 100% non noticeable repair. I am pleased with the final result. A very small hairline crack is all. Perhaps I didn't execute the procedure accurately enough.BIG improvement. I thought I'd give it a try before spending a boatload of money. All chips and cracks are different and may or may not be as successful. Not sure how one could fix a longer crack with a successful result. For the price, it's worth a shot before you pay the big bucks.

I had a chip and crack on my window from a rock. It started to spider so I needed a quick fix. The instructions were easy to follow. Once it's all done you can't even tell it's on the windshield. This is a great temporary fix until I can get the windshield replaced!

I have a small crack in my windshield that I received from a rogue pebble on the freeway. I don't know how effective this is to a crack that's a bit old but I tried it anyway. The next morning it still looks the same and I had to rub the residue off. Maybe I need to try it again and google more thorough directions.

I wanted this to really be a lifesaver for our family. My husband travels a lot for work and continues to get those dings and chips in the windshield of our SUV. We tried this out on his latest chip before it got any bigger. First there are so many steps and really kind of confusing. We kept having to go back and reread the instructions over and over. Then it was very messy. The liquid resin was getting all over. I had it on my hands, my shirt, and it smells so strong. While it did seem to work, it didn't cover the chip and it was a small one. We will have to go back and do it again. For me it's not worth the money and time. I'd rather take the car and have it repaired.

I tried this wind shield repair on a small crack from a pebble hitting my windshield and it really didn't do anything to help it as fair as I can see I still see the chip. I probably would not try this again

I got this for a chip I've had on my windshield for awhile, because it seemed like it was getting worse. This directions for this repair kit were so easy to follow, even for a beginner like me! For chips, you use the applicator base and follow the simple instructions. I had to do it after sundown though, because you can't do it in direct sunlight, and I have no shaded areas. It didn't get rid of the chip completely, but it looks so much better and I think it will stop it from getting worse now.

We have three vehicles and I tried this on all three. It took almost an hour and a half to do 3 chips, bullseyes, scratches on each vehicle. So a total of 9. So, right off the bat their "5 minute" estimate is about double.Dodge Ram - had to use a step ladder to reach the center of windshield. Applied it to 2 large bullseyes (about the size of dimes) and a chip. One of the bullseye and the chip appear slightly smaller.Jeep Cherokee - much easier to reach. Applied it to 3 chips. Only one appears slightly smaller.Infiniti Fx - again, much easier to reach. Applied it to a bullseye, a chip, and a scratch. The bullseye and scratch appear slightly smaller.I am giving two stars. One is for the inventiveness of the little suction cup tool thing. In theory this idea is fantastic!! However, it is pretty cheaply made, which makes any functionality a little less effective. The rubber stopper end where the resin is dispersed started coming off the tool, and this only got worse with each chip I tried to repair. This then lead to resin dripping down the windshield, requiring additional cleanup to an already annoying process. It also allowed resin to leak into the suction cups, which then prohibited them from sticking as well. The second star is because SOME appeared slightly less, so I guess I cannot say it doesn't entirely not work, because it does slightly work.The process is to use the little tool, apply the resin (this is tedious to keep running in and out of the car to check from the inside that it is aligned and also dispersing to the chip or crack), then you remove the stopper, do it again to let out any last air from the cracks, remove the tool, and apply a curing sheet (like a little plastic flat business card sized piece). You then move your car to direct sun and let it "cure" for 5-10 minutes. When you pull the curing sheet off, the resin is dry and is white. You take the included razor blade and scrape the dried resin off. If the chip still is visible, you are supposed to reapply the curing strip and scrape some of the resin back into the chip, and then scrape again to smooth.I did all of the above for all 9 areas I worked to repair. As I said, it took almost an hour and a half. For the amount it slightly repaired or improved the areas, I definitely do not think it is worth the effort. Perhaps it works better on large spider web type cracks, but I don't have any of those to test on. For the ones I tested on, I will attach a pic. The left side are the "before" and the right side are the "after" of the same areas. As you can see, there is only minimal improvement. Most of the other areas I did look the same as before. I believe if they made their tool better quality, this idea would work much better. I can see where the thought process is, and it seems it would work, but the cheapness of the little stopper losing its rubber and not being able to suction on as it should doesn't allow the resin to get inside the crack as effectively as it should. Make that better and it'll work better!

This is a really good product. I used it on my son's windshield on a small rock chip to try to help prevent it from spreading. It was easy to use and came with good directions on how to use it. So far it's helped it from spreading and having to replace the windshield. I would definitely recommend it to other customers and it may help you the way it has us so far.

This made the appearance of my windshield look 85% better than it did. It did not reach the spider leg sections of this crack, however the big gouge where the rock hit was filled in and it looked significantly better. Now I have to get up very close to the window to see the damage, Whereas before you could see it from pretty far away. It did not fill the crack and gouge 100% but I am happy with the results for 20 bucks

As long as the crack is not too deep or that big, it does a pretty good job. It wont make it desappear. Beats paying a windshield repair guy. The crack has to be very well cleaned, and as soon as possible after it happens, to work accurately. It will depend on the size and depth of the crack. Follow the directions as written. I don't think if the crack is too deep or big, this or any other product will work. It is best to be safe and its better to consult a professional if your in doubt of the size or deapth. This wilIt worked on our small nick.

I had a bunch of small chips on my windshield from rocks hitting my vehicle on my daily commute to work. This Rain-X Windshield Repair Kit saved me from having to go through my insurance to have the chips repaired. I forgot to take before/after photos to show you all how well it worked. You can't tell that I had minor chips in my windshield anymore. I'm not sure how it would work on a larger crack or chip, but it works excellent on small ones. It's best to use this soon after the damage occurs before the crack spreads or the chip gets dirty. I highly recommend this product!

This is solid quick fix material to patch a small crack until you can afford to get the entire windshield to be replaced. This is essentially comparable to UV resin. It walks you through the steps to make an easy quick fix. I work with this type of material in art projects, so I don't think that this is a long term fix. But it would be ideal to keep in the car for those surprise chips and cracks that happen on road trips. At the very least this will stop a crack from spreading from vibration quickly which can save time and money in the long run.

This repair kit is easy to use. After curing, it almost completely took care of the chip on my husband's car windshield. Make sure you have the surface cleaned extremely well before starting the process. It may almost be best to do the process in the shade and then move out to the sun with needing UV light to cure. After it is cured, you can scrape the excess off with a razor blade.

This is pretty cool. We got a small chip on the windshield from a car kicking it up on the highway that turned into a small crack for the last two or three years. The product dose say to use it as soon as possible after it happens but we tried it anyway. It was really easy to understand the clear instructions and easy to use the product. The repair device makes it super easy to use and the curing strips are what really make this work. I almost couldn't tell we even had a chip or crack at all, I was worried that's I was going to see the edges of the curing strips but seriously you can't tell at all! I'd definitely recommend this! In the picture the circled red part is where you put the bottle of resin making it really easy to use. The red square is the curing strips.

I was surprised this actually worked but it did. You can see the difference- the picture doesn't do it justice as it was still a little wet and looks cracked still. It was hard to do only because of the spot we had to fix but it took car of off the spider webs and it looks like nothing happened. Ours was only a small quarter/nickel sized area that had yet to spread but I would like to see how it performs on something worse. With it being a 1 shot deal you basically only have 1 opportunity to use it since the pc that attached to the window was trash afterwards and for best results you need to be able to see through the windshield. Ours was down In the dark tinted area and made it a little harder. But it worked

I had 2 small chips that were about 8 months old and 1 very recent chip. 2 of them were bulls eye and 1 was a star. All 3 chips were about the same of a dime or smaller. I don't like taking my car to one of the roadside pop up tents that do this repair since it's paperwork and takes too long. I also don't have full coverage insurance so this would be out of pocket for me. The instructions were easy to read, clearly labeled with good pictures to help guide you. I also watched a video online from a person reviewing this to see it in action before I started. The resin chamber stayed put on my window and the center piece fit great inside the chamber, no issues getting pieces lined up together. It's important to make sure the suction cup is directly over the chip. I think doing the bulls eye was easier then the star chip when I put the resin in. I didn't have too much excess resin to scrap off but the razor blade worked fine to remove what was there. I can still see my chips but it is noticeably better than before and I feel better believing that this will help prevent the crack from getting bigger.

I used this on a small and medium size crack. Neither of the cracks were very deep so I can't say for sure how the product works on those, but they were good for what I needed. The repair kit isn't messy and no major clean up was necessary.

I got a bulls-eye in my windshield and was worried it could turn into a crack. Being the diy'er I am, I decided to give this kit a try. The instructions were straightforward and everything I needed to do the job was included. In less than 30 minutes it was done. The spot is barely noticeable now. I think I may have not put enough drops in initially or it probably would be completely unnoticeable.

The windshield repair kit was very easy to use but it didn't look like the picture on the kit when the repair was finished. I do like the fact that it sealed the chip and prevented it from spreading into cracks but you can still see the chip cluster on the windshield.

I used this on a very small chip in my front window and it fixed it. You can't tell anything was there but keep in mind it was very small to start with. A rock flew off a truck and hit the window so this kit came just in time.
